Four hours of bird watching in Mindo and its surroundings. Our driver will pick you up at 6am from your hotel and we’ll do several stops for watching different species such as toucans, tanagers, motmots and hummingbirds. We’re back in Mindo around 10am.
The tour takes about five hours, from 5:30 to 10am. We will visit the leck of the Cock of the Rock, located 22 km from Mindo. After seeing those birds, we will drive to the high part where we might observe up to 30 species of birds among toucans, tanagers, motmots and hummingbirds.

This tour can last up to four hours and it begins at 5:30am from your hotel. We drive for 20 km to the Milpe Reserve and Gardens, where we will walk through the trails while spotting species like toucans, tanager, hummingbirds, trogons, and other birds of interest.
This tour can last up to six hours and it begins at 5:30am from your hotel. We drive for 22km until our first stop, where we begin our walk from the highway to Birdwatcher’s House. In the way you can see about 40 different species of highlands birds, such as Plate billed mountain toucan, Turquoise jay, Buff tailed coronet, Violet tailed sylph and much more. Once in our destiny, we’ll enjoy breakfast in the countryside while observing beautiful species.

Altogether, we might see more than 60 species of high lands birds such as plate billed mountain toucan, white faced nunbird, ocelated tapaculo, chestnut capped brush finch, tanager finch, collared inca and undulated atpitta. We will also enjoy a delicious countryside breakfast and be back in Mindo at 1:30pm.
This tour can last up to six hours and it begins at 4:30am from your hotel. We drive for 38 km until our first stop, where we will visit the lek of the particular specie Umbrella Bird. The hike can be a little difficult until we get to the highlands, but in the mean time we can also see toucans, tanagers and other species.
This day begins early in the morning, at 05:30, when we head to visit the farm of Angel Paz, which has become famous for providing great views of Giant, Yellow-breasted and Mustached Antpittas, as well as the Andean Cock of the Rock that displays from the forest’s lek sites.
There we will walk into the lush forest and then back up to a clearing area where we can relax over breakfast at an elevation of 1900 m. Next to the eating table we will also have the opportunity to look at colorful mountain toucans and mountain tanagers.
After midday, the visit continues with hikes around the area looking for species like quetzals or trogons. Afterwards, we will drive to Milpe Reserve (1100 m) where we will stay from 3:30 to 5:30pm, enjoying the sight of toucans, tanagers and furnarius, among others.
